Netflix Announces Sylvester Stallone Documentary

It appears that despite having Arnold Schwarzenegger as its Chief Action Officer and featuring his action-comedy series FUBAR and a three-part documentary about him, Netflix is now turning its attention to Sylvester Stallone. A teaser trailer has been released for the upcoming documentary titled “Sly,” which will be available for streaming on Netflix later this year.

The documentary will feature Stallone reflecting on his life, including his regrets, and will offer a similar experience to Arnold’s documentary. The official log line describes it as an intimate look at Stallone’s journey as an Oscar-nominated actor, writer, director, and producer. It will parallel his inspirational underdog-story with the memorable characters he has portrayed throughout his career.

Directed by Thom Zimny, “Sly” is set to be released on Netflix in November. It raises questions about Arnold Schwarzenegger’s thoughts on the documentary, but considering that any rivalry between Schwarzenegger and Stallone was likely buried years ago, it’s possible that he is fine with it. It’s also interesting to ponder why Paramount allowed this opportunity to slip away, especially considering the potential for cross-promotion with other Stallone-related projects such as “The Family Stallone” and “Tulsa King.”
