Since Joachim Rønning, the director of “Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge,” entered discussions to helm the upcoming Tron project, things have been relatively quiet on the Tron front. The film, currently known as “Tron: Ares,” has secured Rønning, and he has now brought Evan Peters on board.

Evan Peters, recognized for his roles in various X-Men movies and his recent work in Ryan Murphy’s popular television series “American Horror Story” (where he portrayed Jeffrey Dahmer), will be portraying a character in the film. Disney has chosen to keep the details about his character under wraps for the time being.

At present, most of the specifics surrounding the movie remain a mystery, including its connection to the 2010 film “Tron: Legacy.” The script has been in the capable hands of Jesse Wigutow. The scheduled shooting is set for August, pending the resolution of the ongoing writers’ strike and the possibility of an actors’ strike.
