The Incredible Hulk Bursting On To Disney+

After being regarded as one of the less successful early entries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and infamous for its behind-the-scenes tension with star Edward Norton, The Incredible Hulk is finally making its way to Disney+ this Friday.

Originally released in 2008 and directed by Louis Leterrier, the film was under the control of Universal Studios. However, the rights have now shifted to Disney/Marvel.

Interestingly, we have already witnessed elements from The Incredible Hulk making their way into more recent MCU releases. While Mark Ruffalo took over the role of Bruce Banner in Avengers Assemble, other characters have also appeared. Tim Roth’s Emil Blonsky, also known as The Abomination, made an appearance in the Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

This trend of incorporating characters from The Incredible Hulk is set to continue with the upcoming production of Captain America: Brave New World. The film will feature the return of Liv Tyler as Betty Ross and Tim Blake Nelson as Samuel Sterns, also known as the hyper-intelligent villain The Leader. Harrison Ford will portray Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, Betty’s father, a character introduced in The Incredible Hulk and previously played by William Hurt.

The addition of The Incredible Hulk to Disney+ follows the inclusion of the Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movies, along with Spider-Man: Homecoming, on the streaming service.
