Taylor Lautner Gets Candid About His Twilight Role

Taylor Lautner, best known for his role as Jacob Black in the Twilight series, has recently reflected on his ever changing perspective of the character. Initially, he felt some resentment but has since evolved in his feelings.

The first Twilight movie, based on Stephenie Meyer’s novels, premiered in 2008, starring Kristen Stewart as Bella, a high school student who develops a romantic connection with Edward (Robert Pattinson), a vampire. The success of the first film led to four sequels, where Bella faced a dilemma between her love for Edward and her bond with Jacob, a werewolf portrayed by Lautner.

During a recent interview on SiriusXM, Taylor Lautner shares his evolving perspective on portraying Jacob in the Twilight franchise.

Looking back, he now cherishes his time as the werewolf character, but there was a period when he struggled with the overwhelming fame and scrutiny that accompanied the role.

Check out Lautner’s full comment below and find a snippet of the interview at the end of the article:

“Now, only fond memories. But I do think that also needed the space because I was always incredibly thankful and feel super blessed for what it brought me but maybe there was a little bit of resentment deep in there. Like, ‘I wish I could have just experienced this part of normalcy.’ Now, I wouldn’t change it, but I think it needed the growth to get to that place.”
